Quandary Peak winter/spring ascent and descent on Cristo Couloir, on April 11, 2020. This marked my highest ski descent so far, and first ascent/descent of a winter 14er.

We met 4am at the Quandary Peak trailhead, and after scouting out the exit road up to the reservoir - we would be coming back this way - we were geared up and starting the trail by 5am, Chris on his split and me on skis.

The climb was not too difficult, just a test of elevation fitness and wind exposure. With the spring melt out we started off boot-packing on dirt for a few hundred feet, then transferred to skins that we would use all the way til the summit, besides a short steep pitch near the top.
